The above is a screenshot just hours before Hurricane Hector passed just south of the Big Island in August 2018. It shows nicely in your display, allows you to zoom in and out effortlessly, predicts the arrival time of storms and has is animated to show the past. The phone weather app that I have found most useful for actually seeing a rain system approach to my very location is the Storm Radar app from. Most weather apps have valuable information but the graphical interface display is often lacking. I have tried quite a few (more than quite a few) various weather apps. Like many people, I have a number of mobile cell phones and tablets. Which weather app should you use to monitor the time rain will arrive, watch live radar and see the weather forecast in real time? You generally don’t need an app that gives you the temperature forecast, you need a storm radar app that shows approaching rain systems. Well, it does rain and we occasionally have brushes with tropical weather systems. At first glance, most people go, “What? You need a weather app to tell you it is going to be 82 degrees, tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that…?”
